Quick answer

Send editable AI or EPS artwork, or a vector PDF, if your design is ready. A clear JPG or PNG reference, an existing ribbon product code, or a short description of your idea can also start the discussion. For custom-printed Christmas ribbons, the minimum order quantity is 2,000 yards (approximately 1,829 meters). You can contact our team before all specifications are decided.

Introduction

If your design is ready, send an editable AI or EPS file, or a vector PDF. If you only have a picture of the ribbon or pattern you want, send a clear JPG or PNG. If you have neither, describe your idea in a few words. Our designers can help prepare the artwork from your files, references or description.

You can also choose a ribbon from our collection and tell us what you would like to change. Include your preferred ribbon width and a short description of the result you have in mind.

If you already have a logo or finished design

Suppose you are ordering ribbon for your brand's Christmas gift boxes. Your designer has prepared your logo, and you want it printed with a Christmas greeting and a few festive details.

Our 38 mm Christmas velvet ribbon shows one way lettering and small Christmas motifs can be arranged along a ribbon.

Example: 38 mm gold-foil Christmas velvet ribbon — HD26731-23.

For a design like this, send the original AI, EPS or vector PDF artwork, along with the exact wording you want to use. Ask your designer to show the layout at the intended ribbon width and mark the logo or motif dimensions in millimeters. If the pattern repeat has been decided, include that measurement too. The repeat length is the distance from the start of one complete pattern to the start of the next.

Tell us the ribbon background color and the color or finish of the design separately. For example, you might want dark green velvet with your logo and lettering in metallic gold. If your brand has Pantone color references, include them and identify which part of the ribbon each reference applies to.

For designs with lettering, ask your designer to send an additional copy with the text converted to outlines. Ask them to include any linked images used in the artwork as well. A JPG or PNG preview alongside the design file is also useful for showing how the complete design should look.

If the layout contains small lettering, fine lines or closely spaced motifs, flag those details for review with our team. We can discuss whether the artwork needs adjusting for the selected ribbon and printing or foil finish before confirming the production design.

If you have a picture but no design file

You may have found a ribbon with the right Christmas feel, but want a different background color or a simpler combination of patterns. A clear JPG or PNG is enough to start that discussion.

For example, this 38 mm velvet ribbon combines gold reindeer, Christmas trees, stars and bells.

Example: 38 mm reindeer Christmas velvet ribbon — HD26731-26.

If you wanted to use it as a starting point, a message like this would be helpful:

We like the reindeer and Christmas trees in this picture. For our Christmas gift boxes, we would like a burgundy ribbon with gold foil. Please keep those two motifs and leave out the stars and bells.

That gives our designers a clear idea of what to keep and what to change. If you send several reference images, add a short note to each one, such as “this background color” or “this pattern.”

Send the original, full-size image if you have it. If a screenshot is all you have, you can send that for an initial review. We will check how clearly the details can be seen and whether the design needs to be redrawn or adjusted. The picture helps communicate your idea; the artwork for production still needs to be prepared and confirmed.

If you do not have a design or reference image yet

A short description is enough to start a discussion. Tell us what you will use the ribbon for, the colors you are considering, and whether you prefer a simple, playful or traditional look. For example, you could tell us:

We need a ribbon for our Christmas candle collection. Our packaging is cream and navy, and we would like a simple winter design. We have not chosen any patterns yet. Could your designers suggest a few ideas?

To explore a few styles, browse our Christmas ribbon collection. Choose two or three examples and tell us whether you like their colors, patterns or finish.

You can also use Pinterest for packaging and color references, or Flaticon's Christmas icons for individual motif ideas.

Send the links with a note about what you like. If you want a stock graphic printed on the ribbon, keep its source link and check that its license covers the intended use.

If one of our existing ribbons is close to what you want

You can send us the product link or product code and describe the changes you have in mind.

Take our 25 mm scattered stars velvet ribbon as an example. You might like the gold stars but want a wider ribbon with more space around the pattern.

Example: 25 mm scattered stars velvet ribbon — HD26731-22.

You could ask:

Could you adapt HD26731-22 to a 38 mm ribbon, keeping the stars about the same size but leaving more space between them?

This tells us both the ribbon width you want and how the pattern should look. Those details matter because changing the ribbon width does not, by itself, tell us whether you want larger stars, more stars or more empty space.

You do not need to calculate the exact spacing yourself. If you are still deciding, describe the effect you prefer. A photo of your gift box or packaging, together with its dimensions, can also help us understand how you plan to use the ribbon.

How the customization process works

Here is how we move from your first idea to an agreed custom order:

  1. Share your request. Send your artwork, pictures, a product link or a short description of your idea. Include your preferred width if known, estimated order quantity, required arrival date and delivery location.
  2. Review the design and order details. We discuss the ribbon material, colors, printing or foil finish, and any changes needed to the artwork. These details help us prepare a quotation for your order.
  3. Confirm the artwork and any sampling needed. Check the wording, ribbon width, motif dimensions, repeat length and color references on the layout. Discuss physical sampling at this stage if you need to assess the ribbon's texture, color or finish before bulk production.
  4. Confirm the bulk order. Once the design and specifications are agreed, confirm the quantity, commercial terms and production schedule with our team.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a Pantone color code before contacting you?

No. You can start with a color description, a picture or a reference from our collection. If you need the ribbon to coordinate with existing branded packaging, send the Pantone references or tell us about the physical color sample you have.

What is the minimum order quantity?

Our minimum order quantity for custom-printed Christmas ribbons is 2,000 yards (approximately 1,829 meters). The minimum is measured in yards; the meter equivalent is provided for reference. If your inquiry includes several designs or colors, list the quantity you need for each so our team can confirm how the minimum applies to your order.

Which delivery date should I provide for a Christmas order?

Tell us when the ribbon needs to arrive at your warehouse or packing facility. If you need time to wrap, assemble or distribute your Christmas products, allow for that when choosing the date. We can then discuss your requirements against that deadline.
