Follow the stripe sequence
Lay a wider piece over the color planned for your slip, camisole or lining. Compare the amount of background showing between the yarn tracks, then decide whether adjacent panels should continue the same sequence. A sleeve cut across the stripes will give a different arrangement from a long front panel.
Plan the openwork joins
Place cuffs, plackets and side seams on the sample before calculating the cut. Trial the edge finish through both the colored tracks and the open loops. If the garment is fitted, assess the required extension with the intended seams and underlayer.
